Located in the heart of beautiful Fountain Hills, this museum focuses on water conservation, while also being an interactive, educational, family-fun destination. The settlers of Arizona depended on the water from sources like the Verde River centuries ago and the continuing importance of water in the desert and the fascinating history of the Lower Verde Valley region remains the central theme of this interactive museum and exploration center.
The Center offers a range of educational programs and events that continue to grow in variety. These events connect the community to the River of Time and raise funds for the museum. This summer, through the end of August, they are holding their 2nd Annual Summer Market fundraiser and are accepting gently used items to sell. With donations from the community, new items will be available every day. Educational programs abound and bring awareness of the importance of water conservation in the desert.
If you want to move beyond the museum walls, sign up for one of 2 unique accompanied tours and explore the beautiful Lower Verde Valley area: Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Exploration Tour or McDowell Sonoran Conservancy Exploration Tour. They also offer Group Tours and School Tours.
Want to do a little shopping after you tour the museum? Don’t forget to head over to the Riverbanks Gift Shop where you will discover unique gifts and souvenirs.
